A Fall-filled Weekend

This past weekend, we took advantage of the beautiful fall weather and went to the pumpkin patch. I was able to get a few good pics, but boy oh boy, is it challenging to stage any pics with Liam these days. He is always on the go and if he's not in the mood, he's not going to do it. I guess that's the age though...

On Sunday, we had tickets for the Children's Museum Haunted House then a friendly feast with the witches afterwards. Liam was NOT a fan of the haunted house this year (we went during lights-on hours), but he had fun at the lunch. The suckers and treats didn't hurt either...

As much as I am over being pregnant right now (38 weeks and 4 days today), I'm glad we were able to have the time to do something fun with Liam just the three of us. We will be a family of four before we know it!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Liam's first Thanksgiving ended up being a pretty low key weekend, but it was perfect because that gave us plenty of time to chill with family. I was lucky enough to have Wednesday, Thursday, AND Friday off, so we kicked off the weekend with some baking and cooking on Wednesday. I may be biased, but we had the cutest little sous chef around...

Thanksgiving day started with my dad, brother, and me running the Drumstick Dash. Normally we would have taken some pictures, but we got there pretty close to the start, and it was only 19 degrees, so I preferred to take my gloves off as little as possible. I felt pretty good running, other than the fact that my arms were going numb from being so cold...brrr.

We got home, got ready, then had some time to play with this little turkey while we waited for the turducken {a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey...very tasty!} to cook.

Then, it was time to eat!

 

After-dinner blowouts call for naked babies at the Thanksgiving dinner table...

The rest of the weekend was spent soaking up as much time as we could with Great Grandma Marilyn and Uncle Joe since they don't get to see Liam that often. Even though I had five days off and TJ had four days off, the time went by way too quickly, and before we knew it, the weekend was over. I'm so excited for Christmas and more time with family in just a few short weeks!

Liam's First Halloween

I'm not usually big on Halloween, but I was definitely looking forward to dressing Liam up this year. I started kind of looking at costumes a few months ago and quickly decided that I would not be spending upwards of $50 on something {cough, Pottery Barn Kids, cough} that Liam would wear for maybe an hour or two, tops. One day when I was looking through Old Navy's baby sale section online, I saw several costumes for the right price of under $20. They were all cute, and I couldn't decide between an elephant and a lion.

Then it dawned on me....we should have a Liam the {ferocious} Lion for Halloween!

We had crazy rain the day of Halloween, so pretty much all the cities surrounding Indy postponed trick-or-treating till Friday, November 1. I had to go cover a football game that night, but we were able to dress Liam up and take him to a few houses before I had to leave. Sure, he had no idea what was going on, but he loved being outside, and some of our neighbors got to see how cute he was too. :)

It was a fun night, and TJ and I ate all of Liam's candy that night while at the game. {P.S. I totally want to do this to Liam when he's older...} I'm seeing that holidays are much more fun with kids...it lets you see them in a whole new light! So excited for Thanksgiving next week, and then it's the Christmas season!

Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

I'm playing a little catch up today and taking you back a few weeks to the weekend before Halloween. For a long time, I've wanted to go to a pumpkin patch in October, but I just felt funny about it until we had a baby in the picture. I was afraid we weren't going to get the chance to go this year thanks to some not-so-great weather, but then Sunday, October 27 rolled around, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect fall day.

We had such a good time, and there was so much to do. Plus, they had hot apple cider and fresh apple cinnamon donuts that were delicious. We're already looking forward to next year, and I know we will be chasing Liam around as he explores everything. I can't wait.
