Life Lately

It's been awhile since I updated y'all on our life happenings, and since life is going to get crazy very, very soon, I thought maybe I should!

TJ and I are starting to feel that our days as a family of two are numbered, so we have been taking full advantage of going on multiple date nights. Last Friday, we ended up going to Cheesecake Factory for dinner plus a little shopping afterwards. Of course, I found a couple outfits for Liam {I can't help myself!}, but I also found a nightgown that will be nice to have for the hospital and in the postpartum period. It was more than I wanted to spend on pajamas, but I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it this summer around the house...you can check it out here.

On Saturday morning, I had to get up bright and early {i.e. my alarm went off at 4:30am}, so that I could go volunteer in the medical tent at the Geist Half Marathon and 5K. I helped out last year, and normally I like doing that kind of thing, but I wasn't really looking forward to it this year being 9 months pregnant and all. Thankfully, everything went pretty smoothly, and we weren't that busy. As we watched people cross the finish line, I saw a number of people running/walking the 5K with jogging strollers, so Liam and I might have to join them next year!

After taking a 3 hour nap on Saturday afternoon, TJ and I headed downtown for another dinner date and then the Pacers playoff game. We were able to eat part of our meal outside, but then had to move inside for our main course due to some rain. We had never been to Mesh before, but we will definitely be back...it was so good! And, yes, we got mussels! {We're a little obsessed!}

Since Saturday was an early morning plus a late night, we decided to sleep in on Sunday before meeting up with some friends for lunch at Creation Cafe. It was kind of a mini baby shower as they both got gifts for Liam. We hadn't seen them in awhile, so it was nice to catch up and see how much their kids have grown! It was a really nice day outside {actually, pretty darn hot}, so we walked around the canal for a bit after lunch too.

Sunday afternoon, we went to church, ate dinner, and we were going to get the carseat installed, but then we got lazy and didn't do it. Oops. Since I've been sick the last few days {headache, cough, congestion...general ickiness}, we still haven't gotten it installed, but hope to do that either tonight or this weekend! Considering I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow {!!!}, and Liam could technically come anytime, I guess we better get that done!

Guess I should probably get my thank you notes done too...thankfully, this weekend is a long one!

Orlando 2013 {Part 4}

Our last day in Orlando was a little chilly {i.e. the high was only in the mid-60's}, so we knew that it wasn't going to be a great day to spend by the pool. We didn't really want to spend the money on going to one of the Disney parks since I wouldn't be able to go on everything anyways, and we also thought about going to Daytona Beach for the day just to see the ocean. After talking about it over dinner, we decided that it would be fun to go over to Kennedy Space Center for the day. My family went back in 1998 for one of the shuttle launches {which was absolutely amazing to witness}, but we didn't have the time to walk around the visitor's center that day because it was so crowded. TJ had never been either, so it seemed like something different to do.

We made the hour drive over to Cape Canaveral and spent the day learning all about the early space programs, the Apollo missions, the shuttle missions, and now the International Space Station. I have a special place in my heart for space stuff {nerd alert} because when I was in middle school, I wanted to be an astronaut. I even had my whole education planned out {yeah, I was just a little bit of a dork}. Even though I {obviously} changed my career path, I still have a huge fascination with space travel and everything related to it, so it was a really fun day for me. Plus, with my DSLR in hand, I had a good time playing around with my camera.

We had a really good time at the Space Center that day. Sure, we may be dorks, but it was something different and we definitely learned something too! Unfortunately, that was our last day in Florida, so the following morning we packed up and were headed back home. I can't wait to go back next spring as a family of 3!!!! :)

Orlando 2013 {Part 3}

I'm finally going to finish our Orlando trip recaps this week. I know, you've probably been on the edge of your seats waiting to hear about the rest of our trip { ;-) }. I guess I'm doing these more for me at this point, plus I didn't want to skip ahead and show you pictures from our San Diego trip without finishing up Orlando ones.

Anyways, you can check out our first few days here and here. Our next couple days were filled with some relaxing by the pool, some fruity drinks {virgin for me, of course}, and dinners out with my family.

My brother didn't stay for the whole week like TJ and I did, so we decided to do some family pictures {minus my dad...I'm not sure where he was we when we were doing these} before dinner on his last night.

Another night during the week, my parents, TJ, and I went to the town of Celebration for dinner. I refer to Celebration as "Disney's perfect little town" since it was first designed by Disney. There are houses, apartments, and condos along with restaurants, shops, churches, and schools. I think the town is meant to have everything you need. Some people may think it's a little creepy, but I think it's kind of cute {I love the look of the houses}, and we enjoyed walking around before we went to another delicious dinner at Columbia.

I'm not sure if I could ever live there {well, I probably never want to live in Florida}, but it's definitely a nice place to visit if you're in Orlando. It's a little less touristy than all the other shops and restaurants closer to the resorts and Disney, so you feel a little more like a local, which is more our style anyways.

Orlando 2013 {Part 2}

It's already been a month ago since we were in sunny Florida, and I still don't have all the recaps up. Oops. I guess you could say I've been a little busy over the last couple weeks. I left you with our first couple of days {Friday and Saturday}, and on that first Sunday, we went to church, hung out by the pool for a little bit, then met up with family in Winter Park.

Winter Park is a city just north of Orlando filled with lots of fun restaurants and shops along their main street. We met my aunt Debby, cousin Sarah and her husband, Dan, and Owen, their adorable little boy who you saw in the pics from my last post. We ate at a yummy burger joint then walked along the street past all the other amazing-looking restaurants. It was a beautiful night, and it was so nice to catch up with family that we don't see very often!

I brought my camera with me and couldn't resist taking some pictures of Owen. Babies are so fun to take pictures of...I can only imagine what I'll be like when Liam is here. {I can almost hear his complaining and whining about it in the future...} :)
